Why We're Different
There's a version of dog walking that's really just dog transporting — a van that picks up six dogs at once, a brisk march through the park, a quick drop-home. That's not what we do.
We walk one dog at a time. No sharing. No waiting in a van. No keeping pace with a pack. Your dog leaves your door and has our complete, undivided attention for a full hour.
That hour is structured entirely around them. If they want to spend five minutes investigating a particularly interesting patch of grass — perfect. If they want to double back and sniff something again — absolutely. That's not wasted time. That's the whole point.
Dogs process the world primarily through smell. A rich, unhurried sniff walk is more tiring than twice the distance at a trot, and far better for their mental wellbeing. We take that seriously.

The Science of Sniffing
A dog's nose contains up to 300 million scent receptors — compared to 6 million in humans. Every lamppost, hedge, and patch of soil is a complex information landscape. We give them time to read it fully.
Rushing a dog through a walk creates stress, not relief. An unhurried walk where they choose the pace and direction activates the parasympathetic nervous system — the "rest and digest" state that truly refreshes them.

Stockbridge Dog Walking was born from a simple belief: dogs deserve better than being rushed through their one hour of outdoor freedom while squeezed into a van with six strangers.
I've lived in Stockbridge for years, and I know every park, every lane, every patch of interesting grass in this neighbourhood. I walk here because I love it here, and so do the dogs.
This isn't a side hustle or a scaling operation. I deliberately keep my client list small so that every dog I walk gets the genuine attention and care they deserve. If I'm walking your dog, that walk is the only thing I'm thinking about.
